Daria Piekos is a Polish-American architectural designer based in Chicago. She obtained her Bachelor's degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) during which she studied at Chu Hai College of Higher Education in Hong Kong. While in Hong Kong Daria worked at Vox Atelier, and upon her return to UIC she obtained an internship at KOO Architecture in Chicago. During her time at UIC, Daria worked with Clare Lyster on Clare's book Learning from Logistics, received the Talent Tuition Award two years in a row, and was featured in the school wide Year End Show three years in a row. Immediately after graduation Daria moved to Houston to continue her architectural studies in the MArch(II) program at the Rice University School of Architecture (RSA). During her time at Rice, Daria had the pleasure of working at Carlos Jimenez Studio in Houston, intern at ALPA Construction in Chicago, as well as collaborate on a university campus design with Jesus Vassallo. While at Rice University Daria's work was featured in the Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism, and she was the recipient of Margaret Everson-Fossi Traveling Scholarship,  H. Russell Pitman Graduate Fellowship in Architecture and the Mrs. L. F. McCollum Fellowship.  After defending her thesis at the RSA in January 2018, for which she received the and the Darden Award for the top thesis, Daria made Chicago her home base for her architectural career, her travel, and her lovable dog Sasha .
